‘Why is she such a boss babe’
Ashley Graham is unbothered.
On Tuesday, the 33-year-old model posted a selfie that showed her wearing a black bra and underwear set drinking sparkling mineral water. She also included several other photos of herself in various places, including one with her son Isaac appearing to celebrate his first birthday.
“Hello it’s me and me and me and me and me and me and me,” she captioned the post.
Fans could not get enough of Graham’s photos and praised her for championing realness.
“You’re such a role model! I love your energy and confidence,” a fan praised.
“Why is she such a boss babe, I can’t deal with her she’s fabulous,” one person said.
“Ur so gorgeousssss,” someone else wrote.
“Thank you for ALWAYS keeping it real!” a commenter continued.
Though Graham is admired for her positivity, she has been transparent about her past struggles with body image and self-esteem. In an interview with NBC in 2019, she shared the affirmations she uses to maintain her confidence.
“You are fine, you are brilliant, and you are beautiful and bold,” she said. “[The mantra] is fun now because it’s in me, but back then, before it was in me, it was necessary…because I didn’t believe it. I didn’t understand it. I didn’t know why I was worthy to have anything I had.”
She further explained that she wanted to use her platform to encourage self-love, particularly for women like her who have been shamed for their weight.
“Health at any size is hard for some people to understand when all you’ve been hearing is ‘you’re fat, you’re not good enough, you need to get a man, you need this to get a job,’” she explained. “But in the end, it’s about taking care of yourself, creating spaces for yourself where you can feel sane. If I can spend 15 minutes of quiet time and talk to myself, I’m going to go into this meeting and slay.”
