UP Board Class 10 Result (2014-2024): A comparative analysis of pass percentage and performance of girls vs. boys over the years


The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) announced the results for the Class 10th Matric Exam 2024 on Saturday, April 20th. The announcement was made during a press conference held by Board Secretary Dibyakant Shukla at the Uttar Pradesh Board’s head office in Prayagraj.
With a staggering 89.55% pass rate, the state witnessed a significant achievement this year.Out of a total of 27,49,364 students who took the exam, an impressive 24,62,026 students clear the examination. This high pass percentage reflects the dedication and hard work of both the students and teachers across Uttar Pradesh.
UP HS Class 10 Result: Pass percentages since 2014
Pass percentages for Class 10 exams in Uttar Pradesh have fluctuated over the years, according to recent data. The pass percentage started at 80.07% in 2019 and rose slightly to 83.31% in 2020. There was a significant jump in 2021, with a pass rate of 99.53%. However, the rate dipped in 2022 to 88.18%. The most recent data for 2023 shows a slight increase to 89.78%. These statistics reflect the evolving performance of students taking Class 10 exams in India.

UP Board 10th Result: Girls outperforming boys over the years
Girls have once again outperformed boys in the UP Board Matric Examinations 2024. Girls passed with a remarkable 93.40%, while boys passed with 86.05%. Overall, the Class 10th students achieved an encouraging qualification rate of 89.55%. The batch of 2024 delivered a strong overall performance, with female students once again demonstrating their academic excellence.
Some studies show that girls tend to read more than boys. This can help them understand their schoolwork better and get higher scores on exams. They might also be able to focus better in class on average, soaking up more information from the lessons. On top of that, some experts suggests that parents push girls harder during exams, compared to boys. Parents believe that by prioritising education for girls, they can empower them and improve their future.
