He has also switched off his number for a few days. Gurcharan Singh left for Mumbai from his home in Delhi on 22 April; but did not reach the airport, nor did he return home. After this, Delhi Police registered a case of kidnapping and started investigation. Gurcharan was struggling with financial crisis In the initial investigation, it was found that Gurcharan was going to get married soon. Not only this, he was also struggling with financial crisis. Police told that Gurcharan withdrew 7 thousand rupees from ATM on 22 April, after which his phone was switched off. His last location was found just a few kilometers away from his home in Palam, Delhi. He left the show after a dispute with the producer Gurcharan Singh remained a part of ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ from its inception till 2013. Later, he left the show due to some dispute with producer Asit Modi. However, on public demand, the producers had to bring him back to the show. After making a comeback, he did this show for 6 years. After this, during the lockdown in 2020, Gurcharan left the show to take care of his father. At the same time, Gurcharan Singh told the police that in three weeks he visited gurudwaras in many cities including Amritsar, Ludhiana. Later he realized that he should return home, so he returned.
