Story from the shooting of Mr. India: Sridevi wanted to learn dance from child artists, but they were lured with ice cream in return
‘Mr. India’ is one of the iconic films of late Sridevi. Choreographer and director Ahmed Khan worked as a child artist in this film. In a recent interview, Ahmed Khan revealed that during the shooting, Sridevi lured the children working in the film with ice cream and in return learned break dance from them. Let us tell you, the audience liked the pairing of Sridevi and Anil Kapoor very much in this 1987 film. The film also featured actors like Amrish Puri and Satish Kaushik. People still like Sridevi’s dance step in the film’s song Hawa Hawai. Ahmed said – I became friends with Sridevi after teaching dance. Ahmed Khan shared his experience of working with Sridevi in the film Mr. India in an interview given to Siddharth Kannan. He said that one day he and the other children were shooting for a serious scene. Then Sridevi came and offered ice cream to all the children but on one condition. Ahmed Khan further said, ‘She (Sridevi) took us to a room and gave us ice cream. Then she said- I am not giving this to you guys because I like you guys. Rather I am giving it because I want to learn break dance from you guys. Then we taught them some dance steps and this is how we became friends.’ Ahmed Khan also praised late actress Sridevi Ahmed Khan also praised Sridevi. He said- She used to be reserved, did not talk much to people. But once the camera was on, she would get into her role perfectly. She was exactly like Michael Jackson, who was very calm in real life and created a ruckus on stage. She (Sridevi) was really great. Initially we were not friends with her, but later we became friends. Talking about Ahmed Khan’s work front, he is currently busy with the preparations of the film Welcome 3. He has directed this film. This film stars actors like Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Sunil Shetty, Johnny Lever. The film will be released next year. Earlier, Ahmed had directed films like Baaghi 2, Baaghi 3 and Heropanti 2.
