Rishi Kapoor used to abuse a lot on the sets: Nana Patekar said- ‘If I asked him to give more than one take, he used to say- what nonsense are you talking about’
Bollywood actor Nana Patekar has shared an anecdote related to late actor Rishi Kapoor. Talking about his experience of working with Rishi in a film, he said that he used to abuse a lot on the set. Nana and Rishi worked together in the 1995 film ‘Hum Dono’. Nana told that during the shooting of the film, he had to face a lot of problems because of Rishi Kapoor. Nana said, ‘He (Rishi Kapoor) used to abuse a lot. He used to get irritated a lot. He would not give more than one take in the shooting of any scene and would say- we are not theatre people like you. On the talk of giving one more take, he used to say- ‘What nonsense are you talking about!’ Rishi Kapoor used to get irritated on giving more than one take. Narrating an anecdote, Nana said, ‘Once I was not happy with a scene, so I asked him for a second take, then he asked me, who is the director? You or Shafi? Then he said- remove it. After this he somehow gave the second take which was very bad. I told him, ‘Chintu this is rubbish, after this he started abusing me very badly. By the fifth take he was ready to hit me but that take was the best. I said Chintu this take has been finalized for the film, then he said to me in irritation, yes it is okay friend.’ Talking about the film ‘Hum Dono’, its director was Shafi Inamdar. It was an action thriller movie. Pooja Bhatt was also seen in the film. This film proved to be a flop. Nana used to ask about Rishi Kapoor’s well being Despite not having a very good bonding with him, Nana used to talk to him. Especially when Rishi was undergoing cancer treatment, Nana used to ask about his well being. Nana said that during that time he used to talk to Rishi a lot. Rishi Kapoor was suffering from leukemia and he was taken to New York for treatment. He died in Mumbai in 2020.
