Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar administered the oath to the elected Member of Rajya Sabha, P P Suneer of CPI from Kerala.

BJP workers organised multiple protests against Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Mumbai for his remarks made in Parliament. BJP leader Tejasvi Surya declared that the BJP Yuva Morcha will hold protests outside Congress offices across the country today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to reply to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address in the Lower House today at around 4:00 pm.

Claiming  that LoP Rahul Gandhi “made several inaccurate statements” in his speech yesterday, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj moved a notice in the Lok Sabha today.  “The abovementioned statements made by LoP in the Lok Sabha are factually incorrect and misleading in nature and hence appropriate proceedings ought to be initiated as provided under Rule 115. I therefore pray that you kindly take cognizance of the deliberate inaccuracies made by Rahul Gandhi and take necessary action,” the notice stated.

“Rahul Gandhi has raised all the important issues of the country. I think removing those parts would not be right,” AAP MP Sanjay Singh stated today.

DMK MP P Wilson labelled the NTA as an “unaccountable and incompetent” authority. “The Tamil Nadu Legsilative Assembly has recently moved a resolution seeking exemption for Tamil Nadu from NEET exam or to scrap the NEET for admission to medical courses. Therefore, we seek the Prime Minister’s immediate attention, either to approve the bill passed by the State government or to bring about amendments to National Medical Council act so the NEET and other exams is given up on national level”, Wilson stated. 

A day after portions of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s statements on the Agniveer scheme and the BJP were expunged from records, the LoP wrote to Speaker Om Birla expressing his disagreement over the issue. Gandhi said that the expunction goes against the very tenets of parliamentary democracy.

BJP MP Saumitra Khan’s criticism of the Trinamool-led government in West Bengal led to a massive commotion in the Lok Sabha. Proceedings resumed only after the Chair asked both sides to maintain decorum in the House.

“For the first time, I have seen an aggressive opposition leader standing in front of BJP. The BJP does not mean Hindus, we Hindus don’t like their Hindutva. That Hindutva which spreads violence and puts them in a bad image,”NCP(SP) leader Jitendra Awhad  said on Rahul Gandhi’s Lok Sabha speech.

“I didn’t find anything wrong in what Rahul Gandhi said in Parliament. He said, pointing towards the BJP people, that there are people who call themselves Hindu, but indulge in spreading hatred and violence. We have been seeing this in politics that people misuse the name of ‘Hindutva’ without knowing much about it, without knowing what Swami Vivekananda taught us,” Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said on Rahul Gandhi’s speech in the Lok Sabha. 

“We can never accept the Agniveer scheme. When INDIA bloc comes to power, the Agniveer scheme will be scrapped. Legal guarantee of MSP on crops has not be implemented by the Centre. Horticulture crops should also be given MSP,” Akhilesh Yadav said in the Lower House today.
