Web series ‘Panchayat’ fame actor Pankaj Jha is in the headlines these days. He is being liked a lot in the role of MLA ji in the series. Meanwhile, Pankaj is also in the news due to some things said in an interview. Actually, Pankaj Jha had said some things in an interview recently in a subtle manner which were being linked to filmmakers Anurag Kashyap and Pankaj Tripathi. Jha said that there are many actors in the industry who glamorize their struggle by snatching the work of other actors. Now Jha has clarified on these comments and said that he did not say these things for Pankaj Tripathi or Anurag Kashyap. Pankaj has also called both of them his friends. Why would I say such things? He said, ‘I did not take the name of any Tripathi in the interview. You can listen to my interviews that I did not take anyone’s name. Why would I say such things? The media always needs masala and for this they make such news according to their own. Pankaj further said, ‘Such news does not make any sense. Pankaj Tripathi is a very good friend of mine. We have worked together in many films. He is my junior. He came into the industry after me and I have been there for a long time. Similarly Anurag Kashyap is my friend. He is like a brother to me. We have done films like ‘Gulaal’ and ‘Black Friday’ together. Why would I say such wrong things about him? What did Pankaj Jha say in the last interview? Recently in an interview given to Digital Commentary, when Jha was asked if he feels that politics was played with him for the role in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’? In response to this, he said, ‘If politics is done behind my back, it does not matter to me. Those who do politics behind someone’s back are generally cowards, but if the other person’s politics harms me, then the one who does politics has won, right?’ Jha’s role was given to Pankaj Tripathi Sharing an incident, Jha had said- ‘I had gone to Patna for the shooting of a film. There I got a message from casting director Mukesh Chhabra that he wants to cast me in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. When I returned after two days of shooting for some other project, I came to know that the role in Wasseypur was given to someone else.’ Let us tell you that Pankaj Tripathi got that role, which changed his fortunes. Further in the interview, Jha also said that some people steal someone’s slippers and say that he is a very big actor for us, so we stole his slippers. Let us tell you that during his struggling days, Manoj Bajpayee once came to stay at the hotel where Pankaj Tripathi used to work. Manoj had forgotten his slippers in the hotel itself, which Pankaj had kept. Tripathi had narrated this story in an interview. In such a situation, it was speculated that Jha had said these things for Pankaj Tripathi. Jha had targeted Bollywood filmmakers In the last interview, Jha had targeted directors apart from Pankaj. His comments were linked to Anurag Kashyap. Calling himself a director making actor, he had said, ‘If films like ‘Satya’ and ‘Gulaal’ have made the careers of actors, then many actors have also made the careers of directors. But the people here are very slimy. They have no backbone. They can’t even keep their words. Some directors are in such a bad state that they themselves have no work. They are working on 36 different projects.’
