Bhubaneswar: The Common PG Entrance Test (CPET)-2024 will be conducted between July 3 and July 14. Common application form (CAF) is available on the website of Student Academic Management System (SAMS) from Friday. Students can apply online for the test by May 27.
The higher education department on Friday announced the schedule of CPET for admission of students in PG courses offered by Odisha’s degree colleges and universities. The department also published guidelines for this year’s PG admission.
MA programme at Odia University, Satyabadi and the PG courses of Shri Jagannath Sanskrit University, Puri have been included under SAMS for PG admission from the academic session 2024-25. No separate exam and admission will be done for Odia University, Puri from the current academic session, said the official sources.
There will be three phases for admission into PG courses. That will be phase-I, phase-II and phase-III. The phase-I will consist of four rounds of selection. “Applicants who got selected and taken admission during the phase-I admission process in any subject at any higher education institutions (HEIs) will not be eligible to participate in phase-II and phase-III admission processes, which will be available exclusively for left out students,” read the guideline issued by the department.
Left out students means the applicants who have not been admitted to any of the HEIs in the phase-I admission process.
This academic year, the applicants are required to upload the residence, income and caste certificates while filling up the CAF. “If they fail to upload these certificates during filling up the CAF, another chance will be given to upload the certificates during updation of graduation/equivalent marks, which will be mandatory,” read the guideline.
Applicants need to update their graduation/equivalent marks between July 12 and July 20. To enrol into the PG courses, the applicants must have completed graduation/equivalent courses from a UGC recognised university. “Candidates, whose final UG results are awaited (not published), can also apply online by filling up the CAF to appear for CPET-2024. However, they must upload their marks prior to preparation of ‘Subject wise and statewide provisional rank’ within the timeline, failing which their applications will not be considered,” said the notification issued by the department.
Dates will be notified by the department for publication of subject-wise and state-wide merit list, choice filling by eligible applicants and publication of provisional allotment of seats for different rounds, said the official sources of the department.
