Within this number, 55 candidates took the test in the hybrid mode, while 2,113 opted for the traditional pen-and-paper method, and 1,746 chose the computer-based format. Overall, there were 77,467 registrations and 64,846 appearances across all modes.

The exam consisted of 451 papers, the majority of which were conducted in English, with the exception of language papers. Two modes were used: computer-based testing (CBT) and a hybrid mode that combined CBT and traditional pen-and-paper formats, with 396 papers conducted in each mode. The NTA administered the January 2024 semester exams on May 18, 19, 26, and 27, 2024.
