Madhya Pradesh was the first state to offer the MBBS curriculum in Hindi, but found few takers
Last year, Madhya Pradesh education minister Vishwas Sarang announced plans to introduce an MBBS course in Hindi. Prior to that, Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the MBBS course books in Hindi. The launch marked the first time the MBBS course book was available in Hindi.
However, months after its introduction, medical colleges in the state found few students interested in studying in Hindi. According to Education Times, only 25 of the 250 students in the MBBS batch chose to study Hindi at Gandhi Medical College (GMC) in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
