The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2024 on June 4, 2024. Conducted on May 5, 2024, the examination saw a record number of participants, with more than 23 lakh candidates taking the test at 4,750 centers across 571 cities in India and 14 international locations. Last year, in 2023, the number of aspirants who took the test was 20,38,596.This reflects a significant increase in participation in NEET UG 2024, compared to last year. Out of the 23,33,297 students who appeared for this medical entrance exam, 13,16,268 candidates qualified. Last year, the number of aspirants who qualified was 1145976. In NEET UG 2024, 11,65, 904 are in the cut-off range of 720-184.
NEET UG 2024: Top Performing States
Uttar Pradesh emerged as the top-performing state with 165,047 candidates qualifying for NEET UG 2024. Maharashtra continues to be a strong contender with 142,665 candidates qualifying for this exam. In Tamil Nadu, the total number of candidates who qualified is 89,426. Here is the list of 10 top-performing states of NEET UG 2024.

NEET UG 2024: Gender-wise Performance
The overall attendance rate was 96.94%, with male candidates at 96.92%, female candidates at 96.96%, and transgender candidates at 94.44%.

NEET UG 2024 Toppers
A remarkable 67 candidates scored a perfect 720, making them joint toppers. These top scorers include 53 males, and 14 females. The highest percentile achieved by these AIR 1 holders is 99.997123. The second and third highest percentiles are 99.997086 and 99.997043 respectively. Check the full list of toppers here.
NEET UG, a mandatory entrance exam for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses in India, as well as BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS, and other AYUSH courses. The NEET UG exam saw a significant increase in participation this year. The examination was conducted in 13 languages. The NTA, with approval from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Education, has been conducting NEET since 2019, in accordance with the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
