Mohanlal remembered director Sangeet Sivan: Said- You were more than a friend, you were my brother, Sunny Deol also paid tribute
Filmmaker Sangeet Sivan, who directed Hindi films like ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’, ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum’ and ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’, has passed away. Sangeet was admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai, where he was undergoing treatment. The reason for his death has not been revealed yet. 65 year old Sangeeth had directed not only Hindi but also many hit Malayalam films. She gave three films like ‘Yodha’, ‘Gandharvam’ and ‘Nirnayam’ with superstar Mohanlal. Many actors including Sunny Deol, Mohanlal, Riteish Deshmukh, Tusshar Kapoor and Sunil Shetty have expressed grief over Sangeet’s demise. Mohanlal said – Kerala will always be thankful to you. While sharing a post on Facebook, Mohanlal wrote – ‘Dear Sangeet Sivan, you have left a deep mark in the field of film direction. You were not only like a friend but also like a brother to me. Films like ‘Yodha’, ‘Gandharvam’ and ‘Nirnayam’ left a deep impression on the heart of every Malayali because they had the touch of your talent. Kerala will always be grateful to you. Sunny Deol shared old photos While remembering Sangeet, actor Sunny Deol shared a photo from the sets of the films ‘Yamla, Pagla Deewana 2’ and ‘Zor’. He wrote- ‘I am shocked to hear the news of the demise of my dear friend Sangeet. Still can’t believe that he is no longer among us. However, he will always be in our hearts and our memories. Apart from this, Sunil Shetty, Tusshar Kapoor and Ritesh Deshmukh also paid tribute to Sangeet by tweeting. Started career with Aamir Khan’s film, directed a total of 8 Hindi films. Sangeet started his career as a producer with Aamir Khan’s film ‘Rakh’ released in 1989. After this, he gave many hit Malayalam films for the next 9 years. After this, he directed many films in Bollywood including ‘Zor’, ‘Chura Liya Hai Tumne’, ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum’ and ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’.
