‘Mainu Vida Karo’ was composed at 2.30 in the night: Imtiaz said – Irshad wrote the song in 45 minutes, everyone in the studio cried after hearing it

Now in a recent interview, Imtiaz told that Rahman had composed this song at 2.30 in the night. During this time everyone present in the studio started crying. ‘Rehman switched off the lights and asked to light the candles’ In an interview given to Radio Nasha, Imtiaz told – ‘At 2.30 in the night, Rehman came and sat at his piano. By that time I and Irshad Kamil (lyricist) were about to leave the studio. Rehman asked to switch off the lights and said to light some candles so that we can enjoy the process. After this he started making the tune and I was enjoying the entire process like an audience. Rehman said to Irshad – You made everyone cry. Imtiaz further said – ‘Rehman kept making the tune and Irshad, sitting nearby, wrote this song in about 45 minutes. Then Rahman said that he will compose this song immediately. Believe me, when this song was being composed, everyone sitting in the studio was crying. Rehman jokingly asked Irshad, what have you done? Made everyone cry. In the interview, Imtiaz also told that Rahman had suggested the name of singer Arijit Singh for this song. The film Chamkila is a biopic of 80-90s Punjabi folk singer Amar Singh Chamkila. Diljit Dosanjh has played the title role in this film.
