KCET result 2024: The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has deferred the release of the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) results 2024, originally scheduled for today, May 20, as stated in the official Information Bulletin.
In a TNN report, Senior Assistant at KEA, Utham Kumar Badiger, explained the reason behind the delay, saying, “We have not released the CET results yet because of the second round of PUC exams, whose results will be counted for the ranks.” “Probably in the first week of June, we’ll announce the results, which will be on our website,” he further added.
The entrance exam, which assesses candidates for Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy courses, was conducted on April 18 and 19, with the Kannada Language Test held on April 20. During the period from April 30 to May 7, candidates had the opportunity to challenge the preliminary answer key.
KEA disclosed that a total of 3.27 lakh candidates participated in the examination, reflecting the high stakes associated with the results.
The decision to postpone the results aims to ensure fairness and accuracy in the ranking process, as PUC exam scores are integral to determining ranks. This extension will provide ample time for the KEA to finalise the results and for students to prepare themselves for the outcome.
