India’s first female director receives Asian Cine Fund: Nidhi said- 34 years ago Indian film received this, the director of the film was a man
The world premiere of the Indian film ‘Sad Letters of an Imaginary Women’ will be held at Asia’s largest film festival, Busan International Film Festival. This film has been selected for South Korea’s reputed Asian Cine Fund (ACF). Busan International Film Festival has announced this on Thursday. The film’s director Nidhi Saxena is the first Indian female director whose film has received ACF. Nidhi is a resident of Jaipur. The shooting of this film has been completed. Nidhi will go to South Korea next month for the post-production of the film and after the completion of the work, the world premiere of the film will be held in October at the Busan International Film Festival. Apart from Nidhi, this fund has been received by three more directors, including two Korean and one Chinese filmmakers. Under this fund, post-production services like color and DI, sound mixing, English subtitle spotting and DCP creation of the film are provided. Nidhi Saxena expressed happiness in a special conversation. She said, ‘This film is actually made in the production of three countries. India, Sri Lanka and Korea. 34 years ago an Indian film received this fund. However, the director of that film was a man. Now it is the first time that a woman’s film has received this fund.
