ICAI Pune Convocation Honours 600 New Chartered Accountants, Emphasizes National Development Role
PUNE: Chartered Accountants play a vital role in the nation’s socioeconomic development, said CA Sandeep Singla, Additional Commissioner of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) during the convocation ceremony organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Pune branch at MIT Kothrud. More than 600 students from the batch who completed the CA course were awarded certificates.
A statement issued by ICAI here on Monday read, CA Ranjeet Kumar Agrawal, National President of ICAI, and CA Charanjyot Singh, Vice President of ICAI, addressed the event virtually.
Pro-vice-chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University Parag Kalkar was also present. CA Singla and Kalkar awarded more than 600 students from the batch who completed the CA course certificates.

Kalkar said, “While working in any field, one should work with a sense of duty towards society. Candidates should be honest in the profession and strive for the development of the country and society.” He also mentioned that after becoming a CA, one can pursue research and a PhD. He encouraged continual learning and self-improvement.
CA Chandrashekhar Chitale highlighted the significant demand for CAs in India and abroad. He expressed happiness about awarding more than 600 chartered accountants and noted the increasing number of women in the CA profession. CA Amruta Kulkarni gave the opening remarks, and CA Umesh Sharma also guided the students.
