Girls Lead in UP Board Results: High School Pass Percentage at 89.55%, Intermediate at 82.60%


PRAYAGRAJ: Setting a new record of announcing the result in a record time of 20 days after completing the evaluation work—that too in a record time of 13 working days—the UP Secondary Education Board, commonly known as UP Board, announced the result of high school and intermediate from its Prayagraj based headquarters, on Saturday.
This is for the first time since the inception in 1921 that the Board has completed conduct, evaluation and declaration of the results of the Board exams of class 10 and 12 in a record time.
The board exams were held from February 22 to March 9 in which a total of 55,25,308 students were registered. Of these, 29,47,335 were of high school and 25,78007 were of intermediate. Out of these, a total of 27,49,364 appeared in high school and 24,52,830 in intermediate.
Like the previous years, girls continued to outshine boys in the overall result of which were announced by the director UP Secondary Education Board, Mahendra Dev in the presence of Board Secretary, Dibyakant Shukla, here on Saturday.
The overall pass percentage of class 10 was 89.55% (it was 89.78% in 2023) whereas that of class 12, the pass percentage was 82.60%, an improvement of 7.08% (it was 75.52% in 2023).
Results of both class 10 and 12 were announced simultaneously on Saturday by the board officials.
In class 10, a total of 27,49,364 students had appeared out of which 24,62,026 were declared successful. Of this, the passing percentage of girls was 93.40% (as against 93.34% of 2023) while that of boys, it was 83.05% (last year it was 86.64%).
Likewise, in class 12, 24,52,830 students had appeared and 20,26,067 were declared successful. The passing percentage of girls was 88.42% (as against 83% in 2023) while that of boys, it was 77.78% (it was 69.34% in 2023).
“The meticulous planning of conducting the exams and that too in a fair and transparent manner had started way back in August-September last year. We evolved methods to check the loopholes and initiated steps to expedite the process following which we have achieved the feet”, said Shukla.
