Fourth appearance in the firing case at Salman’s house: Court sent both the main accused to jail till May 27
The court has sent Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, both the accused who opened fire at Salman Khan’s house, to jail till May 27. On Wednesday, both the accused were presented in the court for the fourth time in this case. Both are in police custody since April 16. Earlier, in the hearing held on April 29, both of them were sent to judicial custody till May 8 by Special MCOCA Judge AM Patil. Fifth accused arrested from Rajasthan: Mumbai Police Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested the fifth accused in the case. The accused, identified as Mohammad Rafiq Chaudhary, was detained in Rajasthan. Choudhary had shot the video and sent it to Anmol Bishnoi. Just two days before the shooting, Chaudhary had done recce of Salman Khan’s Galaxy apartment in Bandra area of Mumbai. According to Mumbai Crime Branch officials, the accused had also shot a video while recceing the actor’s residence on April 12 and sent it to Anmol Bishnoi. The firing was done on the orders of Anmol Bishnoi, brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Funds were received from Bishnoi for the shootout. According to officials, Choudhary had received funds from Bishnoi for the shootout. Chaudhary had given money to shooters Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta on several occasions. However, it is not yet clear how much money Gupta and Pal received to execute the scheme. According to sources, Chaudhary had met both the shooters in Kurla on April 8 and April 11. Some more videos have been recovered from Chaudhary’s phone which are being confirmed. Anuj committed suicide in police custody. One of the accused arrested on May 1, Anuj Thapan, committed suicide by hanging himself with a sheet while in the custody of Mumbai Police. The investigation of Anuj’s suicide has been handed over to the state CID. However, Thapan’s brother Abhishek claimed that the police had murdered him. He was not someone who would commit suicide. Sarpanch of the deceased’s native village Manoj Godara spoke to news agency ANI regarding the matter. He said that on one side there is superstar Salman Khan and on the other side there are laborers. Under pressure, the police killed him and made it look like suicide. Mumbai Crime Branch had arrested Anuj and Subhash Chander from Punjab on April 25 in the firing case. Both of them had provided weapons for this incident. Both were working together with Lawrence Bishnoi for many years. The firing took place on April 14. On April 14, two accused riding a bike had fired four rounds outside the Bollywood actor’s house before fleeing from the spot. Salman Khan was present at his home when the firing took place. The accused were caught from Gujarat two days later. Two days later, Mumbai Police had detained Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta from Bhuj, Gujarat.
