Father’s sacrifice to make his son ‘Chhota Bheem’: He left his job as an officer and came to Mumbai; when his money ran out, he had to beg for food in the temple
First of all, look at this picture.. The name of the child artist seen with Kangana Ranaut in this video is Yagya Bhasin. Yagya had decided at the age of 7 that he wants to appear on the big screen. Though late, he fulfilled his dream. For this, he also worked very hard. However, to fulfill this dream of Yagya, father Deepak Bhasin sacrificed everything. For his son, he left his officer rank job in the High Court of Nainital, while his mother closed her famous beauty parlor. After this, to fulfill his son’s dream, the whole family came to Mayanagari Mumbai. Here, sometimes these people had to live in a chawl and sometimes had to beg for food outside the temple. This story of struggle is being narrated to us by Yagya and his father Deepak, sitting in the office of Dainik Bhaskar in Mumbai.. Decided to become an actor at the age of 7 Yagya told that he was always fond of watching movies. He used to watch mostly superhero movies. After watching these movies, he decided to become an actor. When Yagya told this to his father Deepak, he did not pay attention to it for a few days. But after 10 days he paid attention to what his son said. Deepak said about this, ‘My whole family lived in Nainital. I was posted at the officer rank in the High Court of Nainital. It was 7 years ago. At that time Yagya was about 7 years old and studied in the second class. One day I was leaving for office like everyday when he said- Papa, I want to be an actor. On the first day I did not take Yagya’s words seriously at all. The next day he said the same thing again. I ignored this and went to the office. This continued for the next 10 days. After 10 days I felt that if such a small child is saying the same thing every day, then there is definitely something. One day I talked to Yagya. I asked him what will have to be done to become an actor son? In response, Yagya said- Papa we will have to shift to LA. Before that day I had not even heard the name LA. Then the son told me that the city of Los Angeles in America is called LA. At that time it was impossible for the whole family to shift there. I asked Yagya if we had any other option apart from this. Yagya said- Papa, apart from this Mumbai is the only place where we can go. 1-2 days after talking to the son, I talked to my wife. She said that she will fully support me in whatever decision I take.’ He left his job to make his son an actor, people considered this decision wrong Deepak told about Yagya’s further journey. He said, ‘In January 2017, we decided that we will shift to Mumbai. First of all, I left my job. At the same time, my wife also closed her beauty parlor. Shifting from Nainital to Mumbai was not at all easy. People also opposed this decision of ours. My acquaintances used to say that the decision to shift to Mumbai was wrong. No one becomes Shahrukh Khan or Amitabh Bachchan as soon as he goes to Mumbai. However, I did not pay any attention to what those people said. Even after struggling in Mumbai, I never regretted my decision. Yes, today when I look back, I feel that this journey was difficult.’ Yagya was unaware of this sacrifice of his father On this decision of his parents, Yagya said that he did not think then that the decision to shift from Nainital to Mumbai was a big one. Yagya said, ‘At that time I did not know about the process of becoming an actor. I did not know where and how auditions are held in Mumbai. What is the process after that. At that time, there were no high-tech mobiles so that more information about these things could be gathered while sitting at home.’ The person with whose help I came to Mumbai disappeared In June 2017, Yagya came to Mumbai with his entire family. The story of coming here is also interesting. Yagya and his father Deepak told that when they were in Nainital, they met a person named Jaideep Joshi who had come to visit Nainital with his wife. When they came to know that Yagya’s family wants to shift to Mumbai but they do not have anyone of their own there. Then the Joshi family told that they live in Bhayander, Mumbai, and if they want, they can stay at their house. With this assurance from the Joshi family, Yagya’s father Deepak heaved a sigh of relief and came to Mumbai. However, he was shocked on reaching here. On reaching Borivali station in Mumbai, Deepak called Joshi, but his phone was not reachable. He tried several times, but every time the phone was showing switched off. Deepak also searched for him on social media but did not get any information from there either. Then on reaching Borivali, Deepak took a room in a lodge in Bhayander on the advice of an auto driver. However, Deepak took this entire incident positively. Deepak said, ‘Maybe Jaideep Joshi was God’s messenger, who showed us the way. Even after shifting to Bhayander, we tried to contact him, but could not talk to him.’ Deepak told that he stayed in that lodge for 16 days. After this, he got a flat for 5 thousand rupees. After shifting there, he first got Yagya admitted and arranged for the necessary ration for the house. Yagya got his first show after 55 auditions Deepak said, after making all these arrangements I had to find out where the auditions were held. For this I used to ask strangers on the streets from morning to afternoon. Sometimes someone would call me mad and drive me away, and sometimes they would make fun of me. However there were 1-2 people who understood my condition and told me the address of the auditions. By asking around I came to know that auditions were held at places like Char Bungalow, Versova, Aramnagar, Andheri. Yagya was small so I did not take him there immediately. First I went to these places, understood the process there and then started taking Yagya there. This program went on every day. Every day I would return home at 12 or 1 in the night. Next day Yagya would go to school early in the morning, then from there for the audition. This sequence went on for 3 months. In these three months Yagya gave more than 55 auditions. Then he got work in the TV show ‘Mere Sai’. In this show he was paid 3 thousand rupees for every day of shooting. A good amount of money was saved for the future. Then for the convenience of the son, the whole family shifted to Andheri. Here we could not live in a flat. So we started living in a chawl.’ They also faced financial crisis, used to beg for food outside the temple. Sometimes there came a time when there was no money even for food. Yagya’s father Deepak did not want to compromise with this situation. He had also made up his mind to work as a food delivery boy. He also thought about doing journalism. For this, he had also taken admission in college, but at this time Yagya used to get work in some project or the other. Due to this, there was no need to do other work. Deepak said, ‘Yes, there was no need to do this work. But sometimes the situation became such that we had to beg for food outside the temple.’ Kangana’s film Panga changed his fate Yagya played the role of Kangana Ranaut’s son in the film Panga. Once he had given an audition to casting director Mukesh Chhabra, but he did not remember this. One day suddenly a call came from Mukesh Chhabra’s team, which changed Yagya’s fate. The team said that he has been selected for the role for which he had auditioned. This is how Yagya joined the film Panga. Yagya said, ‘After the film Panga, I got work in the film Biswa. On the last day of shooting of this film, the terror of Corona had spread all over the world. After its shooting, I went to my village in Nainital with my parents. I stayed there for a few days and then I got an offer for the TV show Yeh Hai Chahatein. We did not want to take the risk of working in this show during Corona. But the makers assured that they would follow the proper guidelines of Covid during the shooting. Due to this, we agreed to the show. I worked in this show for one and a half years.’
