Admission Guidelines 2024
The NET scores of candidates will be classified into three categories for the purpose of PhD admissions:
For admission to PhD programmes, the weightage will be 70% for NET score and 30% for interview marks.
Category 1: These are candidates who qualify for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and are eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor as well as PhD admission. These candidates can apply for all three positions.
Category 2: These are candidates eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor and PhD admission but are not awarded the JRF. They can apply for Assistant Professor positions and PhD admissions.
Category 3: These are candidates eligible only for PhD admission and not for JRF or Assistant Professor positions.
The validity of the NET marks for candidates in categories 2 and 3 is limited to one year. This means that candidates who qualify in these categories must apply for PhD admission within a year of qualifying UGC NET. The detailed PhD information bulletin for 2024, which will contain all necessary information regarding the admission process, eligibility criteria, and other relevant details, will be available on the official Delhi University admissions website: admission.uod.ac.in.
