CA May Exam 2024: ICAI warns students of a 5-year debarment if found cheating
CA May Exam 2024: The Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) has issued a warning to CA exam candidates, stating that those found to be engaging in unfair practices, such as cheating, using notes, or impersonation, will face severe consequences. Those caught using such methods will be barred from taking the CA exams for a period of five years.
The ICAI had earlier postponed the CA final and intermediate exams to avoid any potential disruptions caused by the 18th Lok Sabha general elections.The CA intermediate, final, and International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT – AT) exams were held in May. The CA Foundation exams are set to begin on June 20 and will also be held on June 22, 24, and 26.
The notice released by ICAI reads, “As per the policy of the Examination Department of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, among others, possession of mobile phone or any other electronic device/gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination center during Chartered Accountants Examinations.”

The Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) has reiterated its guidelines regarding the use of mobile phones during examinations. It has observed that some candidates were found in possession of their mobile phones and had access to Telegram groups, WhatsApp groups, and other communication channels.
As a result, all mobile phones were confiscated, and reports were taken from the examination center. The ICAI has taken a serious view of this incident and has decided to debar these candidates from appearing in the Chartered Accountants Examinations for the next five years. To avoid such incidents in the future, the ICAI has urged all students to carefully read the instructions in their CA admit cards and strictly adhere to them on the exam date.

Students who have registered for the exam can download their hall tickets by logging in with their credentials.
