The head priest of a Gurudwara in Dosanjh Kalan village of Jalandhar in Punjab died due to electric shock. The deceased was identified as Bhai Surinder Singh Sodhi (43), a resident of Phillaur. Dosanjh Kalan village is the ancestral village of famous Punjabi singer Daljit Dosanjh. This accident happened while offering Nishan Sahib in Gurudwara Sahib. The people present at the time of the incident took Granthi to the hospital but the doctors there declared him dead. There is a wave of mourning in the entire village after Granthi’s death. Electric wires pass over the Gurudwara. Gurdwara Management Committee Chairman Juginder Singh said – Electric wires pass over the Gurdwara Sahib. Like every day, Chief Granthi of Gurudwara Sahib Bhai Surinder Singh Sodhi was offering Nishan Sahib at 7.30 in the morning. At the same time, there was an electric current in the pole of Nishan Sahib. This current occurred due to the pole touching the electrical wires. The servicemen present nearby immediately took Surinder Singh, who got burnt in the incident, to the hospital. There he was declared dead. After this, information about the accident was given to Surinder Singh’s family. There is a wave of mourning in the entire village after the death of Surinder. Surinder was living in Dosanjh Kalan for 32 years. Surinder Singh Sodhi was living in Dosanjh Kalan village of Phillaur for about 32 years. His last rites will be performed in Phillaur on Tuesday.
