However, during this time his wife Alia Bhatt was neither with him nor did she come to vote later. With this, a debate started on social media regarding Alia’s citizenship. For those who don’t know, let us tell you that Alia does not have Indian citizenship but she has British citizenship. Amidst this debate, the actress shared a cryptic post on social media. He shared a story in which it was written – ‘There is no argument, no matter how strong, that can defeat this word love. #TheGoodWord.’ Had said this during the film promotion. Earlier, during the promotion of her debut Hollywood film ‘Heart of Stone’ starring Gal Gadot, Alia had revealed that she is a British citizen. The actress had said that her mother was born in Birmingham, but she herself was born and brought up in India. Soni Razdan had said- My mother had got a British passport made. Earlier, Alia’s mother Soni Razdan had also talked about this in an interview given to Indian Express. He had said- ‘I was born in UK, but most of my life was spent in India. We came to Mumbai when I was only 3 months old. My mother made me a British passport. As a citizen of the world it is my choice and right to decide which passport I want. On the work front, Alia’s upcoming film is ‘Jigra’, which she is also producing. Meanwhile, the actress has also started work on a film of Yash Raj Films.
