Haldhar Nag
Dr. Haldhar Nag is a Sambalpuri poet and
writer from Bargarh, Odisha, India (born 31 March 1950).
“Commonly referred to
as “Lok kabi Ratna”.
He was awarded Padma Shri by the Government
of India in 2016, India’s fourth highest civilian award.
He was born into
a poor family of Ghens.
He is best known for his work Kavyanjali, an anthology of the English translation of the chosen poetry
of Nag, which was launched on 2 October 2016. His third volume of work on Kavyanjali has recently been published.
